John Bartle, Associate Professor of Russian Studies, has taught at Hamilton
College since 1989. He has been the Associate Editor for Book Reviews for
SEEJ since 2001. Publications and research interests include
nineteenth-century Russian literature, especially Dostoevsky; Soviet and
glasnost-era cinema; and language teaching and pedagogy.

David Cooper has a PhD in Russian and Czech literature from Columbia University
and is currently Visiting Associate Editor of the Slavic Review. He
teaches Slavic Folklore at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He

Katherine Crosswhite is a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Language
Sciences at the University of Rochester. She received her Ph.D. in linguistics,
specializing in phonology, from UCLA in 1999. Her research interests include
phonological interfaces (esp. phonetic and psycholinguistic) and formal
approaches to Slavic languages. She maintains the

Sibelan Forrester has a PhD in Russian literature from Indiana University;
taught at Oberlin College 1989-1994 and since 1994 has been at Swarthmore
College in the Dept. of Modern Languages and Literatures. "Specialties" are
20th-century Russian poetry; Russian women writers; literary translation; 20th
century Croatian literature; research interests overlap into women's studies
and folklore.
