Assistant Professor of Russian Literature, Tenure-Track

The Department of Germanic, Russian, and East European Languages and Literatures at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (New Brunswick), is pleased to invite applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Russian Literature (tenure-track), effective September 1, 2017.

We seek a specialist in nineteenth-century Russian literature and culture with an innovative research agenda and strong teaching record. Preferred secondary areas of expertise are cinema studies, poetry (all periods), and post-Soviet culture. Tenure-track faculty in the department are expected to teach two courses per term, maintain an active research profile, and contribute to the department and university through service. Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in Slavic or related field by September 1, 2017, have native or near-native//fluency in Russian and English, and show evidence of scholarly accomplishment and effective
teaching.
