Lecturer in Russian

The Department of Romance German & Russian at California State University Long Beach invites applications for a part-time lecturer in Russian language and literature beginning, August 2016.

Minimum Qualifications:
Appropriate terminal degree in Russian Studies with a strong background in Russian language, literature, history, and Russian cinema
Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the university level appropriate to the assignment
Commitment to and/or expertise in educating an ethnically and culturally diverse student population

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
PhD (ABD acceptable) in Russian Studies
Demonstrated success teaching Russian language courses
Demonstrated experience teaching Russian literature of the 19th century to present, film and civilization
Strong history of ongoing scholarly publication

Duties:
Teach introductory and intermediate Russian language, literature, cultural studies and/or cinema
Willing to advise students on Study Abroad in the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Moldova, etc.
