      Nachalo: When in Russia and Golosa 1. The grammatical exercises allow students to drill themselves on fundamentals such as verb conjugation and noun-adjective declension.
    8. An Interactive On-Line Reference Grammar by Robert Beard. Concise,
      clear explanations of grammar with on-line tutorials.
    9. On-line Materials at Cornell University include "Beginning Russian Through Film," "The Russian Dictionary Tree," and "Lora's Dialogues." You must have a network or very fast modem connection to view the movie clips.
    10. Russian Language Mentor. An entertaining and comprehensive site, designed,
      according to the web-master, as a "self-paced Language Maintenance and Development Curriculum intended for intermediate to advanced Russian linguists." Contains sections on listening and reading comprehension in Russian, as well as Russian cultural literacy (in English). A visit to the "Irregardless Gallery" at the Boris and Gleb Tea Room is a must.
    11. RAILS: Russian Advanced Listening Series. Thirty online, interactive video-based listening comprehension lessons for intermediate-advanced level students of Russian. The lessons are based on excerpts from the films Solovky Power and Children of Ivan Kuzmich by Marina Goldovskaya, and on original, video-taped interviews with prominent Russians such as Irina Khakamada, Sergei Khrushchev, and Veniamin Smekhov. The RAILS project is directed by Benjamin Rifkin; lesson authors are Shannon Spasova, Victoria Thorstensson, Nina Familiant, Dianna Murphy and Daria Vassina.
