Assistant Professional Specialist of Russian

LiteraturesTo promote its bourgeoning Russian Studies program, the Department of German and Russian at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for the position of Assistant Professional Specialist of Russian on the basis of a one-year, renewable contract. This is intended to be a career position with continued renewal going forward; it carries no research expectation and is primarily focused upon teaching.

The ideal candidate will have the Ph.D. in hand, and possess extensive teaching experience at various levels of the undergraduate curriculum, as well as an interest in the scholarship of pedagogy. The typical teaching load will be four courses per semester, though this may be modified by significant service to the department. We are seeking not only a master teacher, but a program builder with creative ideas about program promotion, extra-curricular programming, study abroad, and student recruitment.
