Assistant Professor of Russian and Global Studies

The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Russian and Global Studies, at the rank of assistant professor, with a specialization in 19th, 20th, or 21st-century Russian literature and the ability to teach a variety of courses in global studies.

Candidates should be capable of teaching all levels of Russian language, have a strong publication record/research agenda, and be able to contribute to the department's M.A. program in Russian and Comparative Literature. Additional expertise in another Slavic language is welcome.

Candidates should be able to contribute to the Global Studies Program, including its undergraduate major, which introduces students to humanistic and social scientific methods for approaching globalization and global problems in any of five designated options: Human Rights; Culture and Identity; Global Conflict; Wealth and Inequality; or Health and Environment. The preferred start date of this position will be August 2019. The position requires a Ph.D. in Russian, Slavic Studies, or related field in hand by time of appointment; appropriate teaching experience; relevant record of publication and ongoing research potential.
