Assistant Professor of Russian

To strengthen a vibrant Russian Studies program at the University of Notre Dame, the Department of German and Russian invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Russian to begin the first day of classes in August, 2017. All requirements for the Ph.D. should be completed by the start of the appointment. Area of specialization is open; we are seeking a broadly trained colleague who has both a well-articulated research plan and the ability to teach at all levels of the undergraduate program, both within and outside the department.

Our new colleague will teach two courses per semester, including Russian language and literature; interdisciplinary Russian Studies courses; and courses within the University and College seminar programs. Additionally, the successful candidate will advise students, supervise honors theses, and contribute to a plethora of activities meant to advance the presence of Russian on campus.
