Full-time non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of the Practice

Boston College seeks a colleague for a full-time non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Department of Eastern, Slavic, and German Studies, with a specialization and strong training in Russian language, literature and culture and a secondary specialization in Polish or Czech language, literature and culture. In addition to mastery of a second Slavic language and knowledge of Slavic philology and cultural history, the successful candidate will possess native or near-native fluency in Russian and English, demonstrate dedication to academic service, sustained intellectual activity, and potential for teaching excellence at a North American university and at all levels of instruction. The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures by the time of appointment in July 2021. Evidence of teaching experience, scholarly achievements and professional engagement with technology-enhanced learning are highly desirable. The candidate will be expected to coordinate the Department’s Slavic Studies and Russian course offerings, contribute to curricular and extracurricular development, create interdisciplinary cross-listed courses, advise undergraduate majors and minors, and collaborate with departmental colleagues and other university units invested in Slavic, Russian, and East European studies.
