Fulbright Israel is looking for the brightest and most innovative scholars who aspire to research in Israel and join the Fulbright heritage.
The following applications for the 2022-23 academic year at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem are now open:


1. Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellowships (up to 2 academic years):

· Background: Fulbright Israel awards fellowships to U.S. postdoctoral scholars who seek to pursue research in Israel, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Grants are available to researchers across all academic disciplines, and funding is provided for a minimum of one academic year and up to 20 months (two academic years). Candidates are independently responsible for the arrangement of institutional affiliations with the Hebrew University, including securing a potential host and developing a research plan for the proposed visit.
· Funding: $95,000, for two years ($47,500 per year), reimbursement of U.S.-Israel airfare expenses for Fulbright fellows (and spouses), partial reimbursement of children’s education expenses, and additional relocation reimbursement of up to $9,000 granted by The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

2. Fulbright Research Fellowships for PhD Students (one semester):

• Background: Fulbright Israel will award up to four grants to PhD students for one semester of research during the 2022/2023 academic year. Awards will be granted on the basis of innovation, academic excellence, and potential to both advance knowledge and enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and Israel. Grantees plan their own projects, which may include independent library, archival or field research, consultations with local professors or a combination of such activities. Along with opportunities for research and engagement with local resources, this Fulbright Program offers invaluable opportunities to meet and work with local professionals and experts in Israel.

• Funding: $13,000 living stipend and limited health insurance for grantee only
